Raviteja rial name is Bhupatiraju Ravi Shankar Raju .who started as a hardworking film artist and rose to become a hero.Ravi Teja was born in Jaggampeta, East Godavari District in Andhra Pradesh. He is the eldest of three sons to his father, Bhupatiraju Rajgopal Raju, a pharmacist, and mother Rajyalaxmi Bhupatiraju, a home maker.

                        He Studied in Siddhartha Degree College to pursue his Bachelors in Arts. Half way through his graduation, he left for Chennai on 2 October 1988, to begin a career in film.Ravi Teja's daughter  Mokshadha was born on June 6th ,2003 and his son Manit bron on July 28th 2006.In the beginning, he worked in both television and film as an assistant director but continued in feature films after that.  He acted as one of Chiranjeevi's friends in Aaj Ka Goondaraj.Ravi Teja joined Krishna Vamsi as an assistant director for Ninne Pelladatha and played a small role in the film.He worked in both television and films as an
assistant director before actor.Krishna Vamsi cast him as one of the lead actors in Sindhuram. After that he played second lead in films like Pattukondi Chuddam, Premaku Velayara, and Padutha Thiyaga.Karthavyam is his debut movie. His first film as a lead actor was Neekosam (1999), directed by Srinu Vaitla.Ravi Teja took distribution rights for his Mirapakaya after
the producer couldn't arrange his remuneration on time. So, he indirectly entered into film distribution business.His ex- waif was Vani, daughter of an ECIL employee.In late 2010, two of his brothers are arrested for their involvement in drug nexus.On March 23, 2011, raid are held on his residences andother properties in Hyderabad in regard to discrepancies in regard to tax payments despite increase in their endorsements and business ventures.Ravi Teja married Kalyani in 2002. The couple have two children, Mokshadha (2003) and Mahadhan (2006).
           He won the 1999 Nandi Awards - a Nandi Special Jury Award for the movie Nee Kosam. Later in 2002, he got another Nandi Special Jury Award for the movie Khadgam. With success in lead roles, in 2008, he got a Nandi Award for Best Actor for the movie Neninthe. He is nominated for the 2008 Filmfare Award for Best Actor in Telugu for Krishna and another nomination
for 2009 Filmfare Award for Best Actor in Telugu for the movie Kick.
